Boneca de pano : :Rag doll

O mês passado fiz o meu primeiro workshop na loja Respigar em Campo de Ourique.

A formadora foi a adorável  Pinknounou e o projecto era fazer uma boneca de pano moderna, completamente feita de tecido e com os olhos e boca bordados.

A fase da escolha dos tecidos é sempre a mais dificil, mas desta vez tentei não exagerar nas aplicações.

1.  Escolher as aplicações/tecido e desenhar os moldes.
2. Cortar os tecidos escolhidos e começar por cozer o corpo.
3. Depois o importante é desenhar ou bordar os pormenores da cabeça.
4. Cozer a cabeça ao corpo, sempre do avesso, deixando uma boa abertura para voltar no final (nada fácil).
5. Encher tudo e tentar bordar com cuidado as aberturas de enchimento.

  Adorei as explicações da Pinknounou, e paciência a ensinar a bordar os olhos da boneca... ela é super creativa e fiquei cheia de vontade de me inscrever nos outros workshops. Estou mesmo curiosa com o Worhshop para aprender a bordar à modo antiga portuguesa, como faziam as nossas avós!!!

:: Last month I did my first workshop in the store Respigar  in Campo de Ourique, Lisbon.
The trainer was the lovely Pinknounou and the project was to make a rag modern doll, completely made ​​of fabric and embroidered eyes and mouth.
The phase of the choice of fabrics is always the hardest, but this time I tryed not to overdo it in applications.

1.  Choose the fabric/applications and draw the molds.
2. Cut the fabric chosen and start sewing the body.
3. Draw or embroider the details of the head.
4. Sew the head to the body, always inside out, leaving a good opening to get back at the end (not easy).
5. Fill everything and try to sew carefully filling the openings.

 

 I loved the explanation of Pinknounou and patience to teach me to embroider the doll's eyes ... she is super creative and I was full of desire to enroll me in the other workshops. I'm really curious about the Worhshop to learn how to embroider the old Portuguese way, as our grandmothers did!

The obliteration room

Uma sala branca como a neve: mesas, sofás, plantas, talheres, e até um piano, foi a ideia da artista japonesa Yayoi Kusama que construiu um ambiente totalmente branco na Galeria de Arte Moderna de Queensland, Austrália. O objectivo foi convidar crianças durante duas semanas e disponibilizar...adesivos coloridos aos milhares...o resultado genial está à vista!!! Esta obra é designada por The obliteration room, e faz parte da exposição Look Now, See Forever em exibição até março de 2012!

A room as white as snow: tables, sofas, plants, cutlery, and even a piano, this was the main idea of the ​​Japanese artist  Yayoi Kusama  who built a totally white environment in the  Modern art gallery, Queensland, Australia. The aim was to invite children for two weeks ... and provide  them thousands of colored stickers... the result is simply genius! This work is called  The obliteration room,  and is part of the exhibition  Look Now, See Forever  on display until March 2012!

Garrafa bolsa:: Bottle purse

Estas fantásticas bolsas feitas de garrafas de plástico foram criadas em 2004 pela designer Zitta Schnitt, no site dela está um tutorial passo a passo com ilustrações super engraçadas, deixo algumas aqui:

1. Cortar duas garrafas de plástico com cuidado e aparar as pontas com uma pequena tesoura.
2. Colar junto à borda fita cola para ajudar a marcar os furos (depois é para retirar).
3. Furar com uma agulha o sítio da costura e retirar a fita auxiliar. 
4. Abrir o fecho, alinhá-lo em ambos os lado e cozê-lo.

These fantastic bags made of plastic bottles were created in 2004 by designer  Zitta Schnitt, on her website is a step by step tutorial with funny illustrations funny, I leave some here:

1. First, cut off the bottoms of the bottles approximate, afterwards cut off the excess material, along the burr with the small sissor.
2. Cut out the auxiliary construction and stick it to the edge of the cut-out bottom with adhesive tape.
3. Use the thick needle to pierce the bottom, where the auxiliary construction marks the stitching-holes with dots and remove auxiliary construction.
4. Open the zipper and start sewing.

Reciclar livros :: Recycling books

Estas fantásticas esculturas -  "Banco del Pensamiento" (O banco do pensamento) e “Silla de lectura” (cadeira de leitura) foram criadas pelo talentoso artista Alvaro Tamarit, designer de reciclagem. Na base da construção destas peças encontra-se um reforço estrutural de madeira. Livros antigos empilhados e cobertos com uma grossa camada de verniz. O preço anda à volta dos 6000€.

These fantastic sculptures - "Banco del Pensamiento" (Bank of thought) and "Silla  de lectura " (Reading chair) were created by the talented artist Alvaro Tamarit, designer of recycling materials. On the basis of construction of these pieces is a structural reinforcement of wood. Old books stacked and covered with a thick layer of varnish. The price stands at around 6000€.

Bolachas botão:: Button Cookies

Seguindo uma sugestão da Constança de Saidos da Concha não resisto a deixar por aqui um apontamento às geniais "Coraline Cookies" . A designação foi inspirada no arrepiante e adorável filme de animação da pequena boneca de cabelo azul http://coraline.com/, foi um dos primeiros fimes que vi em 3D!!!

Estas bolachas da Bakerella são simplesmente geniais, e a técnica bem a podemos aplicar a qualquer outra receita, basta uma tampa de plástico e uma palhinhas, e temos o molde feito. Vale a pena esperimentar, a receita passo a passo está aqui: Bakerella.

Following a suggestion of  Constança from Saidos da Concha I simply can't resist to leave here a note to the brilliant "Coraline Cookies." The name was inspired by the creepy and adorable animated film of the little blue-haired doll (http://coraline.com/ ), this was one of the first  films I saw in 3D!

These cookies  from   Bakerella are simply brilliant, and the technique may well apply to any other recipe, you just need a plastic lid and a straw, and you have the mold. It's worth to try, the cookbook recipe is here: Bakerella

Um dos melhores sites para apaixonados por craftworks é o site da   Makeit-loveit tem sempre ideias fantásticas, e os tutoriais da Ashley têm tudo o que precisamos saber muito bem explicado, com muitas fotografias, até ao mais pequeno pormenor. Ando a namorar o tutorial das caixas de tecido há muito tempo, mas ainda não consegui experimentar, aqui fica um cheirinho:

Árvores da Serra da Estrela:: Serra da Estrela trees

Picea Abies :: Nome vulgar Abeto-falso

Inesperadamente na nossa breve visita à Serra da Estrela, encontrámos belos exemplares de Picea Abies também conhecido por Abies excelsea. Conífera de crescimento muito lento da família Pinaceae, que pode atingir cerca de 50m de altura, de copa muito densa, arredondada, com ramagem desde a base do fuste (esta foi claramente podada para permitir a passagem pedonal por baixo). 

Prefere solos húmidos e profundos, em áreas de sombra, ou meia sombra, propaga-se facilmente por semente. As pinhas são muito características e destacam-se das dos abetos pela forma como crescem rectas nos ramos. Os famosos violinos Stradivarius foram construídos com este tipo de madeira.

Unexpectedly in our brief visit to the Serra da Estrela, we found some beautiful specimens of Picea Abies also known as Abies excelsa. Is a very slow growing conifer, from  Pinaceae family, which can reach up to 50 meters in height, crown dense rounded, with branches from the base of the stem (this has clearly been pruned to allow pedestrian passage underneath). Prefers moist soils, deep in shadow areas, or half shade, spreads easily by seed. The cones are very characteristic and stand out from the spruce by the way the branchesgrow straight. The famous Stradivarius violins were built with this type of wood.
